The Broken Body
I've been thinking a bit lately about what happens when a part of the Body of Christ is broken...you know, like a broken Ankle. What should we do? The other parts should take care of that Ankle. The Ankle should get some time to heal, should be protected, and slowly, gradually invited to function again as health is regained.
But what about when you want to saw off another part of the Body of Christ? What if the Body wants to break that limb and not let it heal because it's damaging other body parts? Oh, where is the Spirit of Christ in this Body?! Is is just because I'm biased to my point of view? Or are the damaged body parts flying off left and right evidence enough that we have a problem?
Oh Jesus. Have mercy on us. We need you as our Head, or we'll destroy ourselves.
