Dear Jesus...

Dear Jesus,

I'm tired. It's been a long week. It's been good to see familiar faces and places, but I need you to walk with me. This week I heard about a friend who has finished his race. A lot of us were praying for him, and it hurts to see him go. It hurts to let him go from a distance, without others around me who know the loss right now. There has been a lot to do--every day is so full--too full to take in. There are a lot of good things, but just too much to take in, I don't know what to do with it all. I've been missing my time with you, and I need your help to find your pace, to live in the restful rhythm of your heartbeat.

I know you are here, though, God. I know you have plans for this year, and for me being here, because I know you brought me here. I will look to you and trust you, one day at a time.

I found this verse after thinking about the loss of Daniel, and it reminded me that all of us who travel the journey of faith don't do it to be comfortable. We do it to follow you to a better world.

"All these people died still believing what God had promised them. They did not receive what was promised, but they saw it all from a distance and welcomed it. They agreed that they were foreigners and nomads here on earth. Obviously people who say such things are looking forward to a country they can call their own. If they had longed for the country they came from, they could have gone back. But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them." Heb. 11:13-16

Thank you for listening, and for those who are praying for me and for this school. And thank you for Sabbath, and for kids who sing so beautifully, and for hugs from church moms. And if you could send a little more cool breezes our way, it sure would be nice, especially for workbee tomorrow. Thanks. :)

I love you,
Andrea

  1. I am soooooo thankful Jesus is available and loves to hear from you any time you go to Him. Because we are not able to. But you are always present in our thoughts here. And I know Jesus finds ways to speak back to you. Thank you Jesus! Love you, Mom
