Eyes Open, Don't Give Up

Below is a journal entry from April 17,  2013, during a season when I had to wait a long time before I got a job. It's good to remember how God has led in the past. If there is anything I've learned from walking with Jesus it is that He is always headed in the direction of hope. That is something I really love about Him.

I wake up early

To the rock-star bird outside my window

Shattering my peaceful dreams.

I close my window.

The fan whirs on above my head

As I wish to escape the day

With more sleep.

The gray morning says

I won’t be missing much if I do.

I need Your hope.

Smile on me today.

Arms of Peace and Love—I need You.

What else can I say?

In Jesus’ name…

Amen.

Find the beauty, Dear One.

I’ve painted it throughout your day.

More than just a bonus,

Start with these.

Green—My life lived in you

White—purity of soul I see in you

Gray—promising showers of blessings

Golden—your future with Me is bright.

Eyes open, don’t give up.

I am with you, holding your hand.

Here is peace.

Live in it.
