Clock-Hands
May 20, 2011
Your hands are stronger than the clock-hands.
They may tick away at my hope,
But Your hands lift me up to hope again.
The sand may fall,
The pressure may rise,
But there is still peace in my heart
When I look in Your eyes.
I will keep waiting--
Between each sunrise and sunset--
For Your signal
Your way
Your will
Your wisdom.
And though I wait what seems too long,
I trust Your way is best.
Remember me, Jesus, as I wait for You.
Give me Your courage to face the clock-hands
And words to give the questioners
And actions when it is time to move.
Your hands are stronger than the clock-hands.
They may tick away at my hope,
But Your hands lift me up to hope again.
The sand may fall,
The pressure may rise,But there is still peace in my heart
When I look in Your eyes.
I will keep waiting--
Between each sunrise and sunset--
For Your signal
Your way
Your will
Your wisdom.
And though I wait what seems too long,
I trust Your way is best.
Remember me, Jesus, as I wait for You.
Give me Your courage to face the clock-hands
And words to give the questioners
And actions when it is time to move.
"Our lives are in His hands, and He keeps our feet from stumbling."
Psalm 66:9

This is my prayer too. Time is sometimes our worst enemy, it truly can strip us of hope, but God can and will keep lifting it up to us again.
