Rain Shower

A few nights ago, the boys turned off the water, or at least that's what the girls downstairs told us. (We still don't know why. I should just get to the bottom of it and ask.) The problem was, they didn't tell us ahead of time. I had gone for a nice, healthy jog around campus earlier, and had not showered yet, so I was feeling rather disappointed. Not to mention that we had nothing to drink, and had to limit our toilet-flushing. We felt a little bit like we were back in Ulithi, but we were fantasizing about having no school because the students wouldn't be able to use the bathrooms or get water to drink.

We were just about to go to bed in our water-deprived state at about 11:30 or so, when a big rainstorm came. Aila was brushing her teeth, and I mentioned we had plenty of water outside she could use. So she did. And then I thought, there's plenty of water outside that I could use to take a shower. So I did. I washed my hair, and even soaped up under my t-shirt. I've always wanted to shower in the rain, and now, like a true Student Missionary, I can say I've done it.

The next morning, the water was back on, and school was in session. It was a nice adventure, though, to remind us that we can still be kids sometimes, even if we have to be teachers sometimes too.
